Dr David Gill Dr Gill is an NHS Consultant, with a medico-legal practice.
About the Author
Having qualified at the University of Oxford in 1983, and served in psychiatry since 1989, I now work as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS in Hertfordshire.

I am dually accredited in General Psychiatry and in Liaison Psychiatry.

General psychiatry includes the range of mental health conditions, as referred from GPs, including inpatients, out patients and working with the Community Mental Health Team.

Liaison psychiatry covers the interface of physical and psychological medicine, including medico-legally important conditions, such as somatoform disorders, fatigue, chronic pain, whiplash, factitious disorder, Munchausen's, psychogenic overlay and psychosomatic disorders.

I have undertaken a number of Employment Tribunal and Disability Discrimination Act cases, for Claimant, Respondent and jointly; I have a special interest in this area.

I see personal injury and clinical negligence cases for Claimant, Defendant and jointly. Notable cases have included the Human Growth Hormone/ Creutzfeldt-Jacob action. I have seen criminal cases for both defence and CPS, but this is now only a small part of my practice.
